Land Ownership for Complete Beginners: Everything You're Too Embarrassed to Ask
Last week I got an email that started with: "Juliana, I'm sorry if this sounds incredibly stupid, but I genuinely don't understand how land ownership works. Like, what do you actually get when you buy land? A piece of paper? Do you get a key? Can the government just take it? I'm 43 years old and I feel like I should know this, but I don't. Please don't judge me." First of all, not stupid. At all. Second, you'd be shocked how many people have these exact same questions but are too embarrassed to ask them.
